South Shore Hospital's Geriatric Psychiatric Unit specializes in treating the behavioral changes experienced by some older adults with individualized care and a supportive atmosphere. Mercy Hospital provides patients access to physicians 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Hospital services include rehabilitation and hospice care. Mercy’s Rehabilitation Services offers acute-care, inpatient services to outpatient services including hand rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and work capacity-industrial rehabilitation. In partnership with Vitas Hospice, Mercy offers terminally ill patients medical, psychological and spiritual support and counseling. Additionally, Mercy offers substance use services consisting of an intensive outpatient program and dual-diagnosis program. A dedicated staff of nurses, physicians, spiritual services, and  volunteers take a team approach to patient care and family support. In addition, physicians who specialize in palliative medicine are available around the clock, and all physicians have admitting privileges 24 hours a day, should a patient require additional care.

TCA provides health care services for all people. TCA’s original clinic in Riverdale serves as a medical home for residents of Chicago’s far south side communities and surrounding suburbs. Its community health center in Chatham is convenient for residents of Chatham, Greater Grand Crossing, Auburn Gresham, Avalon Park, Burnside, Washington Park, and Woodlawn. TCA accepts Medicaid, has contracts with more than 10 health plans, and offers a sliding payment scale for anyone who does not have insurance coverage. If you are not insured, TCA's Outreach and Enrollment staff will work with you to find a suitable plan.
